VIRTUAL PERMIT SYSTEM
Beginning this fall semester, UNT will transition from physical parking permits to a fully virtual permit system campuswide.
With this change, your parking permit will exist digitally and will be tied to your vehicle’s license plate rather than a physical decal. This update is designed to simplify the parking experience, eliminate the need for permit distribution, and allow for faster, more flexible account management.
As part of this transition, you will be responsible for ensuring that your vehicle and license plate information are accurate and up to date in your online parking account. Even minor errors can result in a citation, which will still be given as physical piece of paper. Enforcement technology will verify permits in real time by reading license plates.
The new system also allows you to register multiple vehicles under one permit (with only one vehicle parked at a time) and easily add vehicles as needed. Additionally, guest vehicles can now be registered digitally without requiring temporary physical permits.
We ask that you review and update your vehicle information prior to the start of the fall semester to ensure a smooth transition.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact us between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at transportation.services@unt.edu, 940-565-3020, or visit us on the first floor of the Highland Street Garage.
